12and12 collects nothing. It has no accounts, no analytics, and makes no network connections of any kind — the app has no networking code in it at all. Everything it shows you is already inside the app when you download it.
The short version
- We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data.
- There is no account to create and no sign-in.
- There are no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs in the app.
- The app makes no network requests. It works identically in Airplane Mode.
- The app is free, with no in-app purchases and no ads.
What the app stores, and where
12and12 stores a small number of display preferences on your device so the app and its widgets agree on how things should look. Specifically:
- Your widget background colour, text colour, and text size
- Which content packs you have selected
These are kept in a shared app group container on your device, which is what lets the app and its Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read the same settings. They never leave your device, and we have no way to see them.
The readings
All daily readings ship inside the app as bundled content, in every language the app supports. Nothing is fetched, streamed, or updated over a network, and the app does not record which readings you view or when.
Permissions
12and12 requests no permissions. It does not ask for your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, notifications, or health data, and it has no reason to.
Diagnostics
The app contains no analytics or crash reporting of its own. If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in your device settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised crash statistics through App Store Connect. That is controlled by you under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, and is governed by Apple's privacy terms rather than ours.
Your control over your data
Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app removes everything it stored. There is nothing held anywhere else to request, export, or erase.
Children's privacy
12and12 collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Because the app collects nothing, any change is expected to be a clarification rather than a change to what is collected — which is nothing.
